Where you apply your fragrance has as much impact on how long it lasts as the fragrance itself. The key is body heat — warmer areas of skin help release fragrance gradually throughout the day, rather than all at once.
Pulse points are the classic choice: wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears, and the inside of the elbows. These areas run warmer than the rest of the body and sit close to the skin’s surface, making them ideal spots for fragrance to project.
Hair and clothing hold scent differently than skin — fragrance clings to fabric fibers for much longer, which is why a light mist through freshly brushed hair or onto a scarf can extend a scent’s presence throughout the day. Just be cautious with delicate fabrics, as the alcohol in fragrance can occasionally leave marks on silk.
Avoid over-applying to a single spot. A few sprays across two or three pulse points will carry further and last longer than one heavy application in one place.
